The Commercial Pressure Washing Route on the Crew's Phone
At 3am in an empty parking lot, the crew's phone is the only connection to the office. There is nobody to call, because everybody is asleep. Whatever the crew needs to know about the next stop has to be on the screen: where it is, what to wash, where the water is, how to get into the enclosure, and when the store opens. If it is not there, the crew either guesses or skips.
The Office Builds It, the Phone Runs It
The previous guide, One Rig on Houses, One on Commercial: Splitting Routes in Pressure Washing Software, covers how the office assigns commercial work to a rig. This one covers what the crew on that rig actually sees.
The crew app in PressureWashingBossPro runs in the browser on iPhone and Android and can be installed to the home screen. There is no app store download and no special device. Crew members log in with the company login and their own personal PIN, and their jobs for the day appear in route order, the same order the office set on the dispatch board.
The Job Card at Each Stop
Each stop on the commercial route has a card with everything the crew needs:
- Address with a navigation button for one-tap directions.
- Job details: “Drive-Thru, Dumpster Pad · 1,800 sq ft · Concrete · Hot Water” under the address.
- Access notes: spigot location, enclosure key, gate code, opening time, the night manager's name.
- Past notes: what earlier crews wrote on previous visits, like “grease heavy by back door, pre-treat.”
Past notes matter more on commercial routes than anywhere else. The same location gets washed every month, and each visit teaches something. A crew member who learns that the outlet behind suite 104 trips the breaker should write it down, so the next person does not find out the hard way.
Start, Skip, Complete
Three buttons run the day. The crew taps Start when they begin a stop, so the office knows work is underway. They take before photos, wash, take after photos and tap Complete. If a stop cannot be done, they tap Skip and write why.
On commercial routes, Complete records the visit on the account for the monthly statement, or creates the invoice and can charge the card on file for clients who pay per visit. For recurring locations, completing the visit restarts the clock, and the next visit comes due on the Waiting List after the minimum days pass. Skips are covered in Skipped Commercial Pressure Washing Visits: Rain, Locked Gates and Full Lots.
Photos From the Phone
Before-and-after photos are taken right in the crew app and attach to the visit. On commercial accounts, where the manager almost never sees the crew, those photos are the proof of service. Taking them from the same spots every visit, as noted in the access notes, makes month-to-month comparison easy.
Photos also cover the crew. If a dumpster gate was already broken or a sidewalk panel was already cracked, a quick photo in the before set records it.
A simple rhythm keeps photos from being forgotten on a fast route: tap Start, take the before shots, wash, take the after shots, tap Complete. Doing it in the same order at every stop turns it into habit within a week, and the office can spot any visit with a missing set when reviewing the morning's work.
Time Clock and GPS
Crew members clock in and out on the same phone with the time clock, so hours are recorded as they happen. That matters for early commercial runs, where start times are unusual and hard to remember accurately at the end of the week.
Crew GPS shows on the office map. At 5am, the owner can check whether the commercial rig is on pace for the 7am openings without calling the crew. When someone is working alone overnight in a garage or behind a closed restaurant, knowing where they are is a comfort for everyone.
Covering Someone Else's Route
The biggest benefit of putting the commercial route on the phone shows up when the regular crew member is out. Without it, the route lives in that person's head: which spigot works, which key opens what, which store opens first. With it, anyone with a PIN can log in, see the route in order and read every access note and past note at every stop.
That turns a sick day from a crisis into an ordinary day. The account never notices a different person washed the lane. For the full view of commercial accounts, from bid to monthly statement, go back to the commercial pressure washing software page.
