Spigots, Gates, Dogs, Plants and Cars: Access Notes in the Pressure Washing Crew App

Most pressure washing jobs do not go wrong during the wash. They go wrong in the first ten minutes: the crew cannot find the water, the gate code does not work, the dog is in the yard, the roses are right under the wall that needs the most chemical, or there is a car parked in the middle of the driveway that was supposed to be cleaned. Access notes are where all of that gets written down once.

Access Notes Sit Right Under the Job Details

The job details line is covered in Surfaces, Square Feet, Stories, Siding and Method: Reading the Pressure Washing Job Card. The access notes sit right below it on the same card.

In PressureWashingBossPro, access notes are stored on the address and shown under it on the crew's phone every time that address is on someone's list. A storefront washed monthly shows the same note twelve times a year without anyone resending it. If something changes, the office updates the address once, and every future visit shows the new note.

The Spigot

For washers, water comes first. A good spigot note says where it is, whether it works, and anything odd about it:

Commercial stops are where this matters most. Plenty of drive-thrus and parking garages either have no usable water or have it locked. Knowing that at the shop decides whether the rig leaves with a full tank.

Gates and Dogs

Back yards hold decks, patios, pool decks and the back walls of the house, so the gate decides whether the crew can do the whole job. Write which gate, what code and what to do if the code fails: “Side gate code 4412. If it fails, do the front and note it.”

Dogs need their own line. Is there one, is it friendly, can it get out, and what should the crew do if it is in the yard? “Large dog, stays inside on wash day. If it is out, text the office.” A dog that gets out through an open gate is the worst callback a washing company can get, and a dog standing in chemical runoff is not much better. The night-before and on-the-way texts help here: a customer who knows the rig is coming can bring the dog in first.

Plants to Cover

Soft washing uses chemicals, and plants along the foundation sit right in the runoff. Most washers pre-wet plants before they apply anything, keep them wet during the wash and rinse them after. Some customers want certain plants covered. The note should say which ones:

Keep it practical. The note is a reminder of what this customer cares about, not a chemical recipe. Your own process and the product's guidance decide how you protect plants in general.

Cars to Move

A driveway wash with two cars parked on it is not a driveway wash. Neither is a house wash with a convertible parked under the wall being soft washed. A good note says which cars and how they get moved: “Customer leaves for work at 8. Schedule after 8:30 so the driveway is clear.” Or: “Second car stays. Keys on the hook in the garage, customer is fine with us moving it.”

This is another place the automatic texts pay for themselves. A customer reminded the night before is much more likely to have the driveway clear by morning.

When Access Fails

Codes change and cars get left behind. When the crew cannot do part of the job, the right move is to do what can be done, then note what was missed and why: “Car in driveway, house washed, driveway not done.” A photo helps. If nothing can be done, tap Skip with a note. Skipping is covered in Skipping a Wash for Weather, No Water or No Access, and Noting Why.

Off the Group Text, Onto the Address

Gate codes in a group text get buried, and former employees keep every code they were sent. Notes stored on the address and shown only to washers signed in with a personal PIN are current, and they disappear for anyone whose PIN is turned off.
